Once upon a time I needed some new music. And so I asked you what music I should listen to.
The result was a whole list of great songs and artists, many of whom I still listen to regularly.
So now that I've cut back on the freelancing (finally!) and am only a few days away from submitting the last of my thesis revisions, I've decided to stop over-committing and to cut back on the to-do list making, even just a little bit.
(I know, I know, most of you don't believe me. I've said this sort of thing before. But I really am trying!)
I'm going to spend more time relaxing, more time hanging out, more time doing things I really love.
Like reading.
You know how infrequently in the last couple of years I've read for pleasure? Aside from cramming in as many books as I can on occasional vacations (when I'm usually still trying to cram in freelance work)? Not at all.
I'm going to change that.
But first, I need your help. What book do I need to read right now? What's at the top of your to-read or have-read list? Any genre. Any topic. Any author. Just tell me what I absolutely must read.
And then I'll do my best to tackle your recommendations.

The Passage by Justin Cronin was amazing. A definite page turner, though a little dry in the middle.
Lucy was also a page turner. I read it in 12 hours. Literally. I picked it up to read on the beach at like 8 a.m. one day and finished it around 8 p.m. that night.
The Tower, The Zoo and the Tortoise.
The Strange Case of the Composer and his Judge. It's a little bizarre, and doesn't get really interesting until about 1/2 through...but stick with it. It's worth it.
That's just a few :) Happy reading!
Decision Points -George W. Bush
I tell pretty much everyone that they should read Brideshead Revisited, so I will tell you the same, unless you've already read it. Also, that Anonymous is a smart dude, whoever he might be.
I just started The Glass Castle by Walls. It seems like a book you would enjoy. However I also recommend Decision Points and Spoken from the Heart.
Dan Brown has recently captivated me to the point I had to read all of his books. Some of his less famous novels like Deception Point and Digital Fortress are as good as the recent mainstream hits.
The History of Love by Nicole Krauss.
